Michelle Zikowitz guided 8 guild members through a basket making workshop which was sponsored through a community grant that partnered with the Gibson Centre and the Ontario Government.

She led participants step by step through each stage of the basket making process to create a multipurpose basket using rattan and reed.

Various weaving techniques were taught as well as the history of ancient basket making.

It was fun to go from knowing nothing about this art to ending up with a useful, hand crafted item as well as a new skill.
